Please find below the steps required to become a GIF Member.

STEP 1: Fill GIF Registration Form

STEP 2: Pay and Take Entrance Exam

Please send GH¢50 Examinations Fee to the GIF MTN Momo Number 0557956130 and use "your name - GIF Exams" as Reference. Send a screenshot of payment confirmation to exams@gifor.org or by whatsapp to 0231649441 for confirmation. Details for taking the online exams would be forwarded to you to complete.

Take Entrance Exam

STEP 3: Induction into the Ghana Institute of Foresters

After successfully passing the exams, you would be inducted into GIF at the next Annual General Meeting.

GIF Membership Categories

The membership of the Institute shall consist of

Professional Members

Conditional Professional Members

Fellows

Associate Members

Technician Members

Student Members

Corporate Members

Corresponding Members

Honorary Members

Sustaining Members

and

International Members.

Professional Members shall be either:

Graduates of a GIF -accredited forestry curriculum or of a candidate curriculum for accreditation;

OR recipients of a post-graduate degree in forestry from an institution that has a GIF -accredited forestry curriculum or one that is a candidate for accreditation, and who have a minimum of one year of qualifying experience

OR recipients of a bachelor's or higher degree in forestry from an institution that has a GIF -accredited forestry curriculum or one that is a candidate for accreditation, and who have a minimum of two years of qualifying experience.

OR scientists or practitioners who hold a bachelor's or higher degree within the broad field of forestry, based on a curriculum that is neither GIF -accredited nor a candidate for accreditation, and who have a minimum of three years of qualifying experience within the broad field of forestry.
